While both psychotherapy and counselling provide meaningful benefits, the distinction between the two is frequently misunderstood.
Livewell is dedicated to the practice of psychotherapy — a comprehensive and typically longer-term approach that seeks to uncover the underlying causes of maladaptive behaviours. Through the exploration of past experiences, as well as subconscious and unconscious processes, psychotherapy facilitates a deeper understanding of the self. The ultimate aim is to foster authenticity, enabling individuals to reconnect with the person they were inherently meant to be before the imprint of life’s circumstances.
In contrast, counselling and CBT-focused interventions are generally shorter in duration, concentrating on immediate concerns and the establishment of practical, goal-oriented strategies for the future.
